Daren Wallbank FPFS, Certs CII (MP & ER)
Chartered Financial Planner
I am a Chartered Financial Planner with over 25 years of experience in financial services, property and insurance. I also hold a fellowship with the Personal Finance Society and the new certificate in pension transfer advice.
I pride myself on how easy I am to talk to, and that I am able to empathise to the different circumstances that my clients face. I pride myself on finding solutions to complex financial issues and providing advice to my clients in simple straightforward English.
I set up Ginkgo Financial in 2013, and I am delighted that the clients and advisers that we work with continue to refer Ginkgo to their friends and family, due to us being able to maintain and provide the service that is expected and deserved.
Office Manager and Paraplanner
Having graduated with a degree in Personnel Management in 2002, I worked for a number of years in a generalist HR capacity before specialising in the area of Employee Compensation and Benefits. During my time as the Compensation and Benefits Manager within an International Retail firm, I also picked up the responsibility for the management of the payroll team.
However, in early 2015 with my eldest child shortly due to start school, I took the decision to review my career and what I wanted from it. It was at this time that I met Daren Wallbank and swiftly made the move into the world of Financial Services at Ginkgo, where I have been able to transfer and utilise the skills that I acquired within my previous HR and Payroll roles within my role at ginkgo.
The move to Ginkgo was definitely the right one for me, and I haven’t looked back.
Marketing and Business Development Manager
I have been working within the financial services industry since finishing university in 2003, and with Daren at Ginkgo Financial since July 2016.
My role at Ginkgo lies within the marketing and business development of the business. It is also key for me to maintain contact with our advisers, so that they are always kept up to date on the progress of their clients’ cases.
I very much enjoy working at Ginkgo. We have a very friendly, professional and supportive team here, and we all work closely every day to ensure that the expectations of our clients are met.
In my spare time, I love spending time as a family with my husband and children, reading, visiting new places and socialising with friends.
I graduated from university with a Physics degree and then began my career with a large investment bank in London; first as an Equity Research Analyst and later as an Equity Sales Relationship Manager. I decided to leave the City after having my second child and I became a member of the Ginkgo Financial team in August 2017.
Joining Ginkgo Financial has been a very welcome change to my working life and I count myself lucky to now be part of such a friendly, committed and professional team; a team that understands the importance of family and in turn, strives to help its clients plan and provide the best for theirs.
Away from the office, I enjoy exercising and attend classes regularly. I love travelling and have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel extensively in the Americas, where I learnt Spanish and volunteered at a children’s charity. More recently, with my husband and our two young children, holidays have been a little closer to home!
I graduated from university with a degree in Social Policy in 2001 and worked in policy, parliamentary and project management roles in the health and social care sectors until recently taking time out to care for my children and mother.
I joined Ginkgo Financial in September 2019 to support the team with overseeing office systems and information management and it has been a breath of fresh air; it’s a fantastic business that puts its clients and our community right at the heart of what it does. It’s great to be part of a professional, people focused team that really prioritises integrity.
Away from work, I love spending time with friends and family and to get out and about with my two young children and enjoy all the fantastic things going on in our local area.
With over thirty years of experience in Financial Services, I have a passion to ensure businesses and individuals have life insurance in place for when that unplanned moment happens. It is in those tough times that being a Protection adviser makes all the difference to the lives of my clients.
Since joining Ginkgo Financial in June 2019, I have thoroughly enjoyed liaising with our current clients and also meeting with and building relationships with new clients.
I like relaxing, playing chess and love eating out with my wife and daughters.
Chartered MCSI Financial Adviser
I started advising clients in 1999 and passed the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Financial Planning with a Merit. I have provided investment recommendations to private and institutional clients for many years and have also specialised in the US Equities and Derivatives market.
I am a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and I am also qualified to give advice in Long term Care. I use cash flow software with my clients in order to help them identify and achieve their financial goals and aspirations in life.
I am married and live with my wife Elena and my son Andreas. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis and travelling.
I began my career with a big retail bank working closely with small local businesses before moving to Canary Wharf within their Global Banking and Markets division.
I decided to leave Corporate Banking after my daughter was born and joined Ginkgo Financial in September 2019.
It has been a welcome change becoming part of the Ginkgo Financial team where everyone is very knowledgeable in their field, supportive and dedicated to providing a professional friendly service.
The flexible working hours Ginkgo Financial provides allows me to spend time with my family (and our dog Lois) so not to miss those special moments.
After graduating from the University of Chichester with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I opted for a change of industry and jumped straight into financial services working for a foreign exchange company and various other finance based positions before joining Ginkgo. I am currently training to be a Financial Adviser via the Quilter Financial Adviser School.
I have a passion for travel and I fulfilled that by going travelling around Asia recently, although there’s only so much time you can spend on a beach.
In my spare time, I love sport, particularly football but I also enjoy pushing my physical limits, so I’m always trying to improve my Olympic weightlifting, running, cycling and swimming. I also have a passion for reading, new experiences, and seeing friends and family.
